Welcome to Simply Jules
Travel Nurse • Neuro ICU Nurse • RV-Living Mom
Hi, I’m Jules — an ICU nurse with a passion for education, adventure, and motherhood. I’ve spent most of my career in the Neuro ICU, and for the last three years, I’ve had the privilege of working as a travel nurse across the U.S. Now, I’m navigating life on the road with my toddler and sharing everything I’ve learned along the way.

Helping New Nurses Thrive Beyond Nursing School
Let’s face it — nursing school teaches you how to pass the boards, not how to actually be a nurse. The transition from student to practicing nurse can be overwhelming, especially when support is lacking. Although I was lucky to avoid outright bullying, I’ve felt the sting of walking into new units as a “baby nurse,” unsure and unsupported.
That’s why I started this blog — to offer guidance, encouragement, and real-world insight to nursing students, new grads, and even experienced nurses looking to grow in their practice. Whether you’re curious about critical care, looking for mentorship, or just need someone to say, “You’ve got this”—you’re in the right place.
Travel Nursing & Motherhood Can Coexist
Many people assume that once you have a family, the dream of travel nursing has to be put on hold — but I’m living proof that it doesn’t. I travel with my family in an RV, raising a toddler while working hospital contracts and exploring the country. It’s not always easy, but it’s absolutely worth it.
Here on the blog, I share:
- Tips for managing prenatal and postpartum care on the road
- Stories from my time in the ICU and on assignment
- Advice for balancing work, travel, and motherhood
- Resources for nurses who want to educate, lead, and grow
